There’s so many things to love about brunch, a meal where you can order breakfasty bites like eggs and pancakes or savory dishes usually reserved for later in the day like burgers and BLTs. Add coffee, cocktails and the fact that it’s typically enjoyed after sleeping in on the weekend and you’ve got all the elements for a great meal. Below, I’ve rounded up some of the newest offerings to hit the NYC brunch scene.
This Williamsburg destination for refined Venezuelan fare serves up classic brunch dishes that owner Ivo Diaz’s mother would regularly prepare at home. Menu highlights include cachapas (Venezuelan corn pancake, queso blanco, nata), “tacon” French Toast (brioche, queso blanco, orange-spiced papelón) and mandocas (Venezuelan corn doughnuts with sweet plantain, white cheese and spiced papelón syrup).
On the drinks front, Casa Ora’s cocktail menu features more than 15 house creations, some of which are made with Venezuelan rum, plus non-alcoholic drinks like the mango (spicy mango syrup, lemon, soda) for those who don’t want to imbibe during brunch.
Brunch is served at Casa Ora on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Located in a townhouse in Harlem, family-owned and operated Archer & Goat introduced a new bottomless, all-day brunch just last month. For $20, diners get to enjoy unlimited mimosas, screwdrivers and Firestone Lager with the purchase of any entrée (90 minute limit).
On the food menu there’s a diverse range of comforting bites, including crispy, spicy and sweet hot chicken biscuit sliders with maple aioli, white balsamic pickled strawberries and housemade biscuits; breakfast arepas with hanger steak, cilantro hollandaise and fried eggs; and house doughnuts with frequently changing flavors like guava, café con leche, lemon thyme and coconut.
Diners can come to Archer & Goat for brunch on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Chef Alfred Portale’s contemporary Italian restaurant in Chelsea recently launched brunch which can be enjoyed à la carte or as a 2-course prix fixe for $28 per person. Menu highlights include a breakfast bruschetta topped with hot smoked salmon, trout roe and mascarpone; uova Benedetto with speck, arugula and blood orange hollandaise; and a cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing.
For drinks, there’s brunch cocktails like the Isabella Bellini (Prosecco, mandarin juice, blood orange liqueur), Ciao Bella (Prosecco, Aperol, beet, maple) and Etna Maria (a Bloody Mary with a pickled vegetable skewer).
Brunch is served at Portale on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in Chelsea from the team behind Williamsburg’s Zizi Limona serves brunch dishes every day. Highlights include baklava-style granola (kadaif, pistachios, almonds, seasonal fruits, fig yogurt, fennel pollen), buttermilk French toast (challah, shredded halva, date honey, toasted almonds, fig yogurt, berries) and their signature shakshuka (two poached eggs in a Moroccan tomato stew, chickpeas, eggplant, tahini, harissa).
You can make it a boozy brunch with one of ZIZI’s creative cocktails like the Moroccan Tea Party (rosemary smoke, peanut butter rum, Forthave amaro, mint, pine nut, served in Moroccan tea cups) or a twist on a margarita called the Margaret (mezcal, triple sec, yuzu, lime, preserved lemon and thyme).
ZIZI’s brunch menu is available Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. […]
