Brunch is a New York City institution but one restaurant in town blows the Sunday morning competition away, according to food website The Daily Meal.

Soho’s French spot Balthazar – a favorite with the ladies of Sex and the City – is the best place to enjoy a leisurely Sunday morning meal, according to the site.

The Daily Meal compiled the list showing the best brunch eatery in every state by doing a deep dive into review sites. It specifically looked for places that don’t just serve the best traditional food but also venture outside the box.

“These restaurants pay just as much attention to their brunch menu as their dinner menu, and they serve it all in a lively space with just the right amount of celebratory fanfare,” the list’s authors wrote. “If you live near any of these spectacular spots, set aside a leisurely Sunday afternoon and treat yourself.”
