1. Black Bear Campground

This is a full-service campground that is open all year long. You can find it 60 miles away from Times Square. It is one of the highest rated RV Parks in New York. If you have a large RV this is a place for you as they offer space for the largest RV’s. Campers with motorbikes are also welcome.

What can you expect there? They have full-hookups, 20/30/50-Amp service, paved roads, family friendly store with RV parts, picnic areas, and library. Children will love the playground and many opportunities to play sports and hang out with animals.

They have tours to New York City from May to October where you can see the main attractions of the big city.

2. New York City North / Newburgh KOA

This family campsite is open from the end of March till the end of October. It has high camper-rates and is friendly to families. They got the President’s award due to exceptional quality standards and outstanding customer service.

You can camp there with an RV, in a lodge or stay on the camping spot where you can set up your own camping tent. Do you have a dog who you would like to take with you? No worries, the campsite welcomes dogs and offers a park for exploring. You can eat at a coffee and cream snack bar, climb on a climbing wall, fish, and go to tours to New York City.

3. Liberty Harbor RV

Have an urban camping experience in Liberty Harbor Park. You want to see Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from the camp? Reserve your spot and enjoy exploring the big city in a matter of minutes. How can you benefit more if choosing this camp?

You will have ferry service to Downtown Manhattan and easy access to other ferry options to NYC. The city is close; it will take only 15 minutes to reach it from the camp. Pets are welcome but you should have them on the leash and clean after your dog.

The camp has a restaurant and bar on premises, you can shop there and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city.

4. Camp Gateway – Brooklyn NY

This is another family-friendly campsite where you can spend the most exciting holidays. They are open from May till October. You can find it in Floyd Bennet Field. Nature lovers love to come here as they can bike, hike, and refill their batteries.

Camp in a tent or with your RV; they have a place for both. You are not allowed to have pets in tent sites. Camp Gateway should be your option if you like to be outside and enjoy what nature has to offer. Grasslands, woodlands and beaches will make sure that you enjoy your stay. Archery, kayaking and horseback riding are also available to experience.

Do you like history? Take reservation in the camp and take a tour to see Civil War-era forts, restored historic aircraft, and Nike missile sites.

5. Malouf’s Mountain Campground

The last resort I want to introduce to you is Malouf’s Mountain campground. They offer a platform and primitive camping sites where you can settle. The camp is open from mid-April till October 31st. The camp has much greenery so you can relax in the shade.

The camp welcomes campers and hikers without a car and other transportation since they are hike-in /hike-out campground. They have all you need in the camp and the staff will help you transfer the gear for you to the camp as you hike. How cool is this?

It is a family-owned campground established in 2006 that is friendly to all hikers and campers. Look for the owner in a red heat, Mr. Dick, he will be happy to have a word or two. You will have a chance to make your own food or you can order food there.
