5 Best Clubs in New York City (2019)

    Share

New York City is known as the city that never sleeps. With so many choices of late-night spots it can quickly become overwhelming to pick out the cream of the crop. Discover the best clubs in New York City.

    1 Oak

1 OAK, born of the namesake catch phrase, “1 of a kind,” has endured continuous waves of competition and outlasted the rise and fall of countless nightlife trends. Located on 17th street in the heart of Chelsea, it remains at the center of New York City nightlife culture. Boasting a rotation of world-renowned DJs and surprise performances, a captivating interior and a stellar standard of service, 1 OAK provides a nightlife sensibility that caters to even the worldliest of partygoers.

    Marquee

Renowned in the global clubbing landscape, Marquee New York is a nightlife fixture for New Yorkers with a taste for life’s finer things. Here, world-famous DJs, such as Steve Aoki and Michael Brun, perform for celebrity listeners, fashion-industry flocks and Manhattan merrymakers. After paying the cover, you’ll join forces with a mix of sweaty New Yorkers and curious out-of-towners. Marquee also does production better than anyone else, and their dedication to all things ‘nightlife’ is astounding. Break away from the dance floor to take in the dancers, the costumes and the clientele.

    Bossa Nova Civic Club

The center of Bushwick’s thriving techno scene, Bossa Nova Civic Club has been a Brooklyn staple since opening in 2012. This “tropical fantasy dance club” setting itself apart from its competitors with a legitimate sound system and consistently hot lineups of underground house and techno DJs manning the decks. The bar-meets-club has made a big name for itself since opening in 2012, curating its own stage at Sustain-Release and hosting numerous industry pioneers.

    Le Bain

Le Bain is situated on both the 18th floor and the rooftop of the New York City Standard Hotel in Manhattan, and offers indoor and outdoor options respectively. Downstairs is the darkly-lit clubbing area with heated indoor pool, while the upstairs rooftop area is more laid back, plush with artificial grass, waterbeds, and a crepe station offering food to hungry clubbers.

    Black Flamingo

Amid the handful of both legit and underground DIY venues popping up (and vanishing just as quickly) in Brooklyn, Black Flamingo appears to be here to stay. The chill two-level location opened its doors quietly in 2015, but partiers quickly adopted the restaurant-bar-nightclub. This Miami-inspired spot is known as much for its pink flamingo cocktail stirrers as its sweat-inducing dance parties, soundtracked with house and techno beats curated by scene veterans. When you’ve finished flying high on the dance floor, make sure you refuel at Flamingo’s popular upstairs restaurant.
